Cherokee EMA Assistant Earns Georgia Professional Certification

CANTON, GA -- Mark Harris, Assistant to EMA Director, was recognized at the Cherokee County Commission work session Tuesday afternoon for achieving the Georgia Professional Certification for Emergency Managers from GEMA Representative Tim Reeve.

This certification requires five years of EMA experience, over 150 hours additional training and the completion of the special projects the Cherokee Marshal's Office said. Harris joins a rather elite group of one of 120 Georgia Professional Emergency Managers in the state.
