Cherokee High School Student Passes Away

The student, whose identity has not been released at this time, was a senior at the school, the principal said.

CANTON, GA — The Cherokee High School community is mourning the loss of one of its students. The student, a senior at the Canton-based school, passed away Monday morning, Principal Todd Miller said in an email to parents.

The school and district have not released the student's name at this time, and his cause of death has not been determined.

"It is heartbreaking to lose this kind young man, who was just weeks away from graduation and beginning the next chapter of his life," Miller continued in the message. "I know you all will join me in keeping his family in your hearts and prayers."
