Cherokee Opens Firefighter Recruit Application Process

Applications must be completed by midnight Wednesday, April 8.

The application process for new firefighter recruits for Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services is now open.

Applications must be completed online by midnight Wednesday, April 8, and can be filled out by visiting the Cherokee County government’s employment website.

It is imperative that applicants read the application guidelines before beginning this application process for full-time and part-time entry level firefighters, Cherokee fire said in its press release.

Candidates must 18 years or older with a high school diploma or GED in order to qualify for the positions.

Applicants must attend only one of the mandatory fire department orientation seminars. You will not be eligible to continue in the hiring process if you do not attend one of these sessions.

The seminars will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, April 10 and Monday, April 13 at the Cherokee County Administration Building, which is at 1130 Bluffs Parkway in Canton.

All correspondence will be through email. Candidates should receive an orientation notice email from the Human Resources Department within 96 hours of your application submittal.

Candidates are encouraged to check their spam and junk folders if you do not receive this notice. Please email firehr@cherokeega.com if you have not received the orientation notice email after the timeframe mentioned.
