The Cherokee County School District recently won 11 awards from the Georgia School Public Relations Association.

The awards were announced during the organization’s annual conference, which was held Oct. 23 in Helen.
The Annual Publications, Photography & Electronic Media Contest “recognizes outstanding work produced by Georgia schools, school systems, post-secondary institutions, educational agencies or education-related associations, the school district said.

The awards won by the school district are coordinated and facilitated by the Office of Public Information, Communication and Partnerships and represent collaboration between and among multiple departments.
Honorees will be recognized by the Cherokee County School Board and Superintendent of Schools Dr. Frank Petruzielo at the Nov. 5 board meeting.

Photos: These photos by Carrie McGowan – one from the 2015 CCSD Special Olympics Awareness Games and the other from Hasty Elementary School Fine Arts Academy’s Birthday Party -- both won Gold Awards in the 2015 Annual Publications, Photography & Electronic Media Contest organized by the Georgia School Public Relations Association. Judges praised the photos for the emotion conveyed by the images and gave both high marks for composition.
