Cherokee Sheriff's Deputies Receive Life Saving, Bravery Awards

Six deputies with the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office were recognized at Tuesday’s Cherokee County Commission meeting for going above and beyond their everyday service to the community.

Sergeant Lee Stewart, Sergeant Derrick Voss, Deputy Joshua Stewart and Deputy Matthew Windsor received Life Saving Awards. Lieutenant Casey McLeod, Deputy Nicholas Timms and Voss received the Sheriff’s Citation for Bravery.
Additionally, two civilians -- Lindsey Helms and David Wilson -- as well as Jessica Smith, an off-duty Marietta police officer, also received Life Saving awards.

Chief Deputy Joe Perkins presented the awards to the deputies.
