Cherokee Sheriff's Office Hopes To Use Cameras To Solve Crimes
"C.S.O. Camera Connect," is a partnership between the sheriff's office and citizens who have video surveillance cameras to find suspects.

CHEROKEE COUNTY, GA — The Cherokee Sheriff's Office is launching a new program they hope will help assist investigators with identifying and locating suspects who commit crime in Cherokee County.
The program, which is called "C.S.O. Camera Connect," is a partnership between the sheriff's office and citizens who have video surveillance cameras. Citizens who would like to participate are asked to register their information with the sheriff's office and if any crimes are committed in the future near the cameras, investigators will be able to contact the citizen to see if the suspects image or their vehicle was captured on camera.
The sheriff's office reiterates it is not asking for access to view random videos from the community live. This program is only to be used to collect evidence of crimes that have been committed in the area of where known cameras exist.
