Cherokee Special Olympics Receives $20,000 Donation

The funds were raised through the annual 8-inch Cup for a Cause golf tournament.

Two Cherokee County School District teachers who serve as the Cherokee County Special Olympics co-coordinators recently accepted a $20,200 for the program.

The funds accepted by Adaptive PE Teachers Amy Aenchbacher and Dave Martinez were donated by the BridgeMill Men’s Golf Association.

The funds were raised through the Association’s annual 8-inch Cup for a Cause Golf Tournament, which was held Nov. 15 at the BridgeMill Athletic Club golf course.

The funds will be used by the Cherokee County Special Olympics to provide year-round sport opportunities for community members with intellectual disabilities in Cherokee County.
