Cherokee Teenager Reported Missing, Believed To Be in Cobb Area

Police and school district officials say Mikala White was last seen Dec. 4 riding a school bus to Cherokee High School.

Two law enforcement agencies are looking for a 15-year-old Cherokee County teenager who was last seen earlier this month.

The Cobb County Police Department is assisting the Cherokee County School District’s Police Department in their efforts to locate Mikala White.

Cobb police spokesperson officer Mike Bowman said authorities are working leads in their jurisdiction that may point to the location of Mikala, who was last seen Dec. 4 riding a bus to Cherokee High School.

School district spokesperson Barbara Jacoby said Mikala got onto the school bus from her group home that Thursday morning, but never reported to class or rode the bus home.

Cherokee County school police have listed Mikala as a runaway and has informed the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office, the Cobb County police and the Marietta Police Department about the teen’s disappearance.

Jacoby said authorities believe Mikala may be hiding in Cobb County.

A post on the Woodstock-Towne Lake Patch Facebook page describes Mikala as having brown hair, green eyes and around 5’4” tall. The teen could be located in the Canton, Smyrna or Marietta area, the post notes.
