Among the patient ribbon cutters were Canton Mayor Gene Hobgood, Children's CEO Donna Hyland and Children's Community Outreach Liaison Janet Read.

The more than 10,000-square-foot facility provides families with board-certified pediatricians, on-site lab and X-ray services that use up to 50 percent less radiation than some adult facilities. The new Urgent Care Center also gives patients access to Children’s more than 1,900 doctors trained in 60 specialties.

“Whatever the reason you find yourself at Children’s, you can confidently know that your child is receiving world-class care from a hospital system with more than 100 years of experience caring for Georgia’s kids,” said John Polikandriotis, vice president of Ambulatory Operations at Children’s. “We want to make specialized pediatric care more accessible to families in Cherokee County, and with the success seen at Children’s at Cherokee Sports Medicine, it has been with much anticipation that we can now offer urgent care for minor illnesses and injuries with the opening of this urgent care location.”

Convenient online scheduling is offered at Children’s at Cherokee where families can access real-time wait times and save their spot in line for check-in before leaving home. More information can be found at choa.org/waittimes.

This location is one of 27 neighborhood locations and the sixth Urgent Care Center in the Children’s system, which also includes three hospitals — Egleston, Hughes Spalding and Scottish Rite — and Marcus Autism Center.

Children’s at Cherokee Urgent Care Center is located at 1558 Riverstone Parkway, Suite 100 in Canton. Urgent Care is open weekdays 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., weekends 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and holidays 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
