Christmas Celebrations Return To Canton, Holly Springs

The city of Ball Ground will also host its March of the Toys Parade on Friday, Dec. 2.

CANTON, GA -- Anyone looking to celebrate the start of the holiday season in and around Canton will have no shortage of events to choose from.

For those looking to celebrate the spirit of giving, 4th annual March of the Toys Parade for Toys For Tots, which gets underway at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2 in downtown Ball Ground.

Attendees are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy for the Toys For Tots campaign, which provides toys for less fortunate Atlanta area children.

To the south in the Cherokee County seat, the Canton Optimist Club will host its annual Canton Christmas Parade & Festival.

Music will be performed from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 on the square in downtown Canton. Additionally, Santa Claus will be available from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. for photos in the gazebo at Cannon Park located across from the Cherokee County Justice Center.

The city's parade will start at 6 p.m., and will march east along Waleska Street, continue onto West and East Main streets and loop back around to North Street.

For those in the city of Holly Springs, organizers also have you covered. The city's Community Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2 at the Historic Train Depot.

On Saturday, the 12 Annual City of Holly Springs Christmas Parade will be held at 1:30 p.m. The route will run from the intersection of Holly Springs Parkway and Adam Jenkins Memorial Drive south to the Historic Train Depot.

After the parade, Santa will be at the Historic Train Depot, and each family will receive one complimentary picture printed on-site. Holly Springs will also have Christmas music playing outside while children can make crafts to take home, and each guest can pick out a sweet treat from Smallcakes Truckcakery.

The Historic Train Depot is located at 164 Hickory Road in Holly Springs.
