Christmas Rolls into Downtown Canton with Parade, Holiday Celebration
Residents will have no shortage of holiday-related events to celebrate in downtown Canton this weekend.

The holiday spirit will be in the air this weekend as Canton residents celebrate the season with events on Friday and Saturday.
The Canton Main Street Program will host its First Friday celebration from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 5. Along with music and shopping, Nights of Holiday Lights will include a visit from Santa Claus. Residents are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy to be donated to MUST Ministries.
Additionally, any funds raised at Friday’s event will go towards the Canton Police Department’s Shop with a Cop program, the Main Street Program said in its newsletter.

On Saturday, Dec. 6, the Canton Optimist Club will bring its annual Christmas Market Place and parade to downtown Canton. The market will be held at 3 p.m. at Cannon Park.
Along with serving as a place to shop for gifts, the market will feature live music throughout the day leading up to the 27th annual Christmas parade, which starts at 6 p.m.

Parade lineup will be held between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. behind AutoZone on Waleska Street. The parade will march east along Waleska Street, continue onto West and East Main streets and loop back around to North Street.
