Church Security Training Set For June 23 (ICYMI)

The seminar is open to anyone interested in a safe house of worship to include pastors, church leadership and security teams.

From Holly Springs PD: Surviving an active killing event is a concern many people share today. The Holly Springs Police Department is offering a free educational session focused on the security of houses of worship with presentations regarding preparation on how to respond to an active killing event, disruptive situations, skills to analyze potentially harmful human behaviors, and mapping a church security plan.

“Eyes in the Tallgrass” will be held at Five Stones Church at 1358 Sixes Road in Canton on June 23, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A free lunch is provided. American law enforcement has the quickest response times in the world. However, a killer can wreak great havoc before help arrives. Attendees will learn several simple steps to prepare themselves for appropriate action if such an event occurs and methods to spot trouble before it starts.

Chief Mike Carswell said, “Churches are often left behind when this type of critical training becomes available. Holly Springs Police is going to change that.”
