A Georgia State University baseball pitcher remains in the hospital with serious head injuries after his mother said he was beaten at an Atlanta bar over the weekend.
Tammy Swaggerty, the mother of 21-year-old Dillon Kent Swaggerty, told WSB-TV her son was dancing with a woman at Kramer’s on Roswell Road in Buckhead Saturday evening when a group of men shoved him to the ground and begin to beat him.

A trainer for the baseball team examined Swaggerty and urged him to go to the hospital, WSB-TV said. He underwent a CAT scan on Monday night and will remain in intensive care.
Atlanta police spokesperson Kim Jones told Patch the department was unaware of the incident until Swaggerty’s mother called them Monday evening.
An investigator was dispatched to the hospital to interview Swaggerty and police are investigating the incident, Jones said. As of Wednesday morning, Jones added that the department has ”nothing to report” on potential leads or suspects.
