The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners will host the first public meeting at 6 p.m. July 7 during its regular meeting, which will be held at the County Administration Building.
The commission has tentatively adopted a millage rate that will require a 4.98 increase in property taxes. This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 5.728, an increase of 0.271 mills. Without this tentative increase, the millage rate will be no more than 5.457.
