Poole recused himself from the measure, as his proposed project to build a funeral home at the corner of Eagle and Rose Creek drives in Towne Lake propelled county leaders to review permitted uses in zoning districts.
Poole’s plans initially included an operating crematorium along with the funeral home at the Towne Lake location, but he later decided to seek another location for the crematory portion of his business.
Poole stated groundbreaking for the funeral home project “will not be too far away now.”
Residents who’ve expressed opposition to Poole’s plans continue to hold regular protests at the site of the proposed development and discuss their concerns on the HEADS UP Woodstock - Neighbors Against Poole Funeral Home and Crematory’s Facebook page.
