Creekview Alum Delivers Campaign Promise For Ice Cream -- 5 Years Later
Class of 2011 President Will Herbert worked with Dippin Dots ice cream to provide the treat to 2,000 Creekview students for free.
CANTON, GA -- Creekview High School's president of the Class of 2011 made good on an old campaign promise Monday to bring Dippin Dots ice cream to campus.
The topic of "broken campaign promises" came up on Q100's "The Bert Show" during the U.S. presidential campaign, and several members of the Grizzly Nation remembered how Will Herbert promised Dippin Dots for the school five years ago -- and they called in to the radio show to call him out.
The story caught on with listeners as well as with Herbert's family and friends. In response to the pressure, Herbert went on air and agreed to honor his campaign pledge.

As the 2011 graduate was working on the logistics to provide Dippin Dots to 2,000 students and Creekview teachers and staff, Dippin Dots received so much publicity from the story that the company provided the setup and the ice cream for free.
Herbert flew in from Los Angeles (where he works in corporate marketing) and on Monday, there were two ice cream stands distributing free Dippin Dots to all of Creekview High School.

The Bert Show came on site and enjoyed the ice cream with the students, as well as providing prizes and music during lunch periods. Of course, Herbert thanked Dippin Dots for its support and helping him fulfill a campaign promise, no matter how late he delivered on that pledge.
“It feels good, I’m not going to lie guys," Herbert said, when told that this might help get in the good graces of the high school. “I certainly hope so, (as) that was what my intention was. I hope the Grizzlies can learn to forgive me, one Dippin’ Dot at a time.”
