The district made the decision ”based on the potential for unsafe road conditions this evening.” Elementary school After School Programs will operate on normal hours today, however.
“While we do not anticipate early dismissal of school today, we are monitoring weather conditions and will continue to do so overnight,” the district said in a statement. “We will continue our practice of immediately sending notification to parents of any decision related to inclement weather, as well as posting this notification on the CCSD website and social media and sending it to local media.”

Residents should expect snow accumulations between .5 and 1 inch, areas of black ice until road temperatures rise above freezing and “dangerous” wind chills.
