Elderly Man Dies In Cherokee County Crash
The Cherokee Sheriff's Office said a Chevrolet Nova traveling westbound on White Road left the roadway and struck a tree.

WHITE, GA — A Cherokee County resident was killed Thursday when a vehicle left the roadway and collided with a tree. Deputies with the Cherokee Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the crash around 4:28 p.m. Jan. 10 on White Road near Sutallee Ridge Trail, which is located off Highway 20 near the Bartow County border.
A preliminary reports shows a Chevrolet Nova was traveling westbound on White Road when it left the roadway and struck a tree, sheriff's office spokesperson Sgt. Marianne Kelley said.
The driver, Alan McIntire, 62, of White, was ejected from the vehicle while the passenger, 73-year-old Barry McMahon of White, received "extensive injuries" in the accident, Sgt. Kelley added.

Both men were transported to area hospitals. However, McMahon died from his injuries. The sheriff's office's Traffic Enforcement Unit continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
