ATLANTA - The Trayvon Martin case has sparked rallies all over the country, including Atlanta.
Students, local and state leaders gathered at the state capitol Friday morning to announce a rally to support Trayvon Martin's family. They say the rally will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Monday at the Georgia state capitol.

They also are asking to abolish or amend a Georgia law similar to a Florida law that they say now allows Trayvon Martin's killer to remain free.
Authorities say George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch captain, has admitted he shot and killed the 17-year-old Martin in self-defense. He has not been arrested. Protestors around the country, including Atlanta, rallied in Sanford Thursday night demanding that more be done in the Martin case.

"A threat to justice has occurred down in Sanford, Florida," said an organizer at the state capitol. "And so we'll be here at 5:30 on Monday and we'll be here as long as we have to. And we'll stand behind his family until justice is served."
It was learned on Friday that the Department of Justice is opening up an investigation into the case and the Florida Grand Jury is now reviewing the case.
