Express Lane Project To Close Lanes On I-575
Canton and Cherokee County motorists may want to find alternate routes this weekend.

The Georgia Department of Transportation will continue its slew of projects this weekend designed to improve highway infrastructure across the metro Atlanta area.

This means motorists will experience lane closures throughout the weekend. Specifically, Georgia DOT is asking motorists to avoid non-essential travel along Interstate 285, as several projects will require multiple lane closures throughout Fulton, DeKalb and Cobb counties.
Closer to home, the Express Lanes project will also require one lane closure on Interstate 575 northbound from Barrett Parkway to Chastain Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Sunday. Closures will also take effect on Interstate 75 southbound at SR 120 Loop/Marietta Parkway.

Two lanes and one on-ramp lane will close from 9 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday.
