Fire Damages Home In Cherokee County
The bulk of the damage was on the front porch and living room. No injuries were reported.
HOLLY SPRINGS, GA — Three people were able to escape a fire that damaged a home early Thursday in Holly Springs. Crews with Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services responded to the fire in the 5000 block of Apple Orchard Lane around 1:45 a.m. April 5. The 9-1-1 caller said the front porch of the house was on fire and everyone inside the home was able to get out of the burning structure.
Cherokee County fire Lt. Matthew Richter said Engine 8 arrived to find the "heavy" fire raging and multiple hose lines had to be deployed to put out the blaze.
One resident, a 36-year-old man, said he was asleep and woke up to find house on fire. He woke up his 37-year-old girlfriend and the homeowner and they all were able to escape with suffering any injuries.

Cherokee County Fire Investigator Shane Daniel said the majority of the damage is centered on the front porch and the living room. Other areas of the house received smoke and water damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
