Free Trash Disposal Now Offered at Canton Collection Site

The service is only open to residents in the city limits, and there are restrictions on what will be accepted.

CANTON, GA -- The city of Canton is offering more disposal options to better serve its residents who want to clean out clutter in their homes. As of Dec. 1, Canton is now offering free trash disposal for residents in the city limits at its collection site at 2525 Ridge Road.

The site will be open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays and Saturday. These hours do not include city-observed holidays, however.

Speaking of the holidays, the site will be open each day following the week of Christmas -- Thursday, Dec. 26 through Saturday, Dec. 30 -- to receive any excess related from the holiday (please do not bring food-related trash to the site).

Items that will be accepted at the collection site include:

  • old lumber
  • washers and dryers
  • stoves
  • dishwashers
  • metal
  • air conditioners
  • water heaters
  • carpet
  • freezers and refrigerators (emptied and tagged as being Freon free
  • household items such as furniture, couches, tables, etc.

  • paints, chemicals or oils
  • brush or leaves
  • roof shingles
  • tires
  • items from dump trucks or trailers
