Friends Of Holly Springs PD Give Back To Children

Holly Springs PD: The Friends of Holly Springs (FoHS) Police Foundation held asuccessful 5th Annual Shop with a Hero and Stuff-a-Truck at Wal-Mart, Holly Springs Saturday. Shop with a Hero brings together Heroes and Children where they spend a fun-filled time shopping for Christmas presents. Chief Carswell conveyed about the event, “the spirit of giving is a wonderful feeling that was shared by a lot of people at Shop with a Hero which resulted in many children receiving Christmas Joys and Smiles on their face.”

This year with the amazing help of our partners, sponsors and donors, the Friends of Holly Springs Police Foundation brought Christmas cheer to over 55 children. Wal-Mart is always a wonderful sponsor and host. The Home Depot, Holly Springs again sponsored buckets of cleaning supplies and Community Impact (FBC Holly Springs) sponsored non-perishable food items for each family. Our Hero’s this year came out in force – Holly Springs Police Department, Station 8 Cherokee County Fire Department, E-911, Department of Community Supervision, Search & Rescue. Heroes and Volunteers are always excited to shop one on one with the children. It’s great to see a child’s eyes light up while they are shopping. Foundation Board Member, Charlice Byrd said, “It’s all about the children”. In addition to partnering with the CFVC to fill their Birthday Closet for 2019, Officers & Foundation Members will again distribute Stuff-a-Truck toys in the community to benefit families they know might need a helping hand. Shop with a Hero and Stuff-a-Truck cannot happen without a tremendous amount of planning, volunteers, sponsors, donors, heroes and the community; thank you for your giving spirit.
