GDOT has completed another phase in the evaluation to reduce the number of alternatives proposed for improvements to the highway.
The recently completed Screen 2 analysis reduced the larger number of alternatives to a “reasonable” range of two strategies: widening existing S.R. 20 or widening the thoroughfare with localized bypasses, the agency said.
GDOT will continue refining and evaluating these options in preparation for the Draft Environmental Impact Statement.
A public information open house was held Sept. 15 and 17 and GDOT officials presented the results of the Screen 2 Analysis, sharing the alternatives to advance for additional study.
The displays from the public meeting can be viewed at the project website.
