Gospel Fest Returns to Downtown Canton

The sixth annual event, which celebrates Black History Month, will be held Saturday, Feb. 6 at the Cherokee Arts Center.

Canton, GA -- The sixth annual Gospel Fest will soon return to Canton and Cherokee County.

The music extravaganza is a celebration of Black History Month, and will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6 at the Cherokee Arts Center.

The sixth annual installment will showcase a diverse group of talents with a Mass Choir, Praise and Dance Teams and solo performances. Anyone who has participated in the last five Gospel Fest productions is encouraged to come and join the Mass Choir for Gospel Fest VI, as organizers continue to see new voices to join the choir.

Rehearsal dates for the Gospel Fest VI Mass Choir are: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25, Thursday, Jan. 28, and Monday, Feb. 1; and 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4.

As in the past five years, admission to Gospel Fest will be free of charge, and everyone is encouraged to attend the event.

This year’s celebration is also presented in partnership with the Cherokee County Arts Council, and is also being sponsored by Canton Tourism and North Canton Chevron. Additional sponsors are welcomed and appreciated.

The Rev. Fred Forsh will again be coordinating the music and the musicians for the choir.
