Head-On Collision Sends Driver To Hospital

HICKORY FLAT, GA -- One motorist suffered minor injuries in a head-on collision Tuesday morning in Hickory Flat.

The accident occurred around 7:45 a.m. on Hickory Flat Highway at Hickory Road.

One vehicle was traveling eastbound on S.R. 140/Hickory Flat Highway while another was traveling westbound on the state route, the Cherokee Sheriff's Office said.

The vehicle traveling eastbound attempted to make a left turn on to Hickory Road when it collided with the car traveling westbound, the agency added. 

The sheriff's office stated the westbound-traveling driver suffered minor injuries and was transported to North Fulton Hospital in Roswell for treatment.
