High School Graduations Start Thursday in Canton
All ceremonies will be held at First Baptist Church of Woodstock.

CANTON, GA -- The formal rite of passage where high school seniors will transition from students to adults will kick off this week in Cherokee County.
The Cherokee County School District's 2016 graduation schedule will begin on Thursday, May 26. All ceremonies will be held at First Baptist Church of Woodstock.
The schedule is as follows:

Thursday, May 26
- 4 p.m.: Woodstock High School
- 8 p.m.: Creekview High School
Friday, May 27

- 4 p.m.: Cherokee High School
- 8 p.m.: Sequoyah High School
Saturday, May 28
- 9 a.m.: River Ridge High School
- 1 p.m.: Etowah High School
First Baptist Church of Woodstock is located at 11905 Highway 92. The Woodstock Police Department warns heavy traffic will occur on Neese and Trickum Roads as well as along the state route at least one hour before each ceremony.
"Uniformed officers will be posted so as to assist with traffic congestion," the agency said in a press release. "However, we recommend this area be avoided and alternate routes used if possible."
