Holly Springs Police To Host Safe Citizen Seminar

The free event will be held April 21 at First Baptist Church of Holly Springs.

Anyone can become a victim of a crime, regardless of age or experience. Coupled with that fact and the increase of reported scams targeting senior citizens, the Holly Springs Police Department will offer tips on how residents can reduce their chances of becoming another statistic.

Choose To Refuse: A Safe Citizen Seminar will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 21 at First Baptist Church of Holly Springs.

The church is at 2632 Holly Springs Parkway.

The free, two-hour session will present information on various topics to include: how to spot a fraud on the telephone or your doorstep, popular scams, online scam/Internet risk prevention, protecting personal information, safe meeting places, securing your home, street safety tips and more.

Residents of all ages are welcome to attend and will benefit from the learning experience. Being armed with this knowledge is a great to add another layer of protection to your lifestyle, the Holly Springs Police Department said. 

The event is free, and no prior registration is required.
