Holly Springs Wins Distinguished Budget Presentation Award

It's the seventh time the city has been given the honor by the Government Finance Officers Association.

HOLLY SPRINGS GA -- The city of Holly Springs has been awarded the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its 2016 budget. 

City Manager/Finance Director Rob Logan was presented with the award, along with a Certificate of Recognition for Budget Presentation.

GFOA notes the award represents a "significant achievement" by an entity given the honor. It also reflects a governing body's commitment to meeting the "highest principles of governmental budgeting," the city said.

In order to receive the budget award, the entity has to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. These guidelines assess how well a budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device. 

The city's 2016 budget received a rating of “proficient” in all four of the listed categories and in the 14 mandatory criteria within those categories.

Holly Springs has received this recognition for its 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 budgets.
