How, Where, When To Recycle Christmas Trees In Canton

There are several options to get rid of your once-live tree in ways that are good for the Canton community, and environment.

CANTON, GA — As Christmas comes and goes, you may wonder when is the best time to put out your live Christmas tree on the curb. Depending on how early you got your tree, it may be starting to dry out.

The City of Canton is participating in the annual "Bring One for the Chipper" tree recycling program.

Cherokee County residents can take their live Christmas trees to 2525 Ridge Road in Canton through Jan. 14, 2022.

All trees must be free of lights and ornaments.

The National Fire Protection Association recommends taking your Christmas tree outside after Christmas or when the tree is dried out, as dried-out trees can create a fire hazard. Dried-out trees should not be left inside a home or garage or leaning against a home.
