ICYMI: Canton, Cherokee County Food Service Inspections

The Cherokee County Environmental Health Department conducted food service inspections July 6-20 at the following establishments:

Lil Whisper (Food Service Inspections)*

View inspections: July 13, 2016 Score: 85, Grade: B

• Establishment must have some one on staff certified in food safety.
• Observed hand washing sink(s), lacked proper hand drying provisions or soap. All hand sinks must have: water, soap and some sort of hand drying provision.
• Observed the ice machine with no overhead or door for protection of the ice.
• Observed an ant infestation on the wall and trash can next to the dish machine.

View inspections: July 19, 2016 Score: 85, Grade: B

• Observed food contact surfaces not cleaned after being contaminated. Must clean and sanitize after each use or at least every four hours.
• Observed prepared food not marked with date of preparation or date for disposal.
• Observed toxic chemicals being stored in food prep area. Chemical should be stored away from food items and containers.
• Observed live flies throughout the kitchen.
