ICYMI: Free Prostate Screening Set For March 16

CANTON, GA -- Northside Hospital’s Cancer Institute next week will offer a community screening to determine men’s risk for developing prostate cancer.

Aside from skin cancer, prostate cancer remains the most frequently diagnosed cancer in men. The screening will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 16 at Northside Hospital-Cherokee's Medical Associates of North Georgia Office.
The office is located at 320 Hospital Road.

Those eligible for the free screening include:
- Men ages 40-75
- Have never been diagnosed with prostate cancer
- Have not had a prostate exam within the past year
The screening is administered by health care professionals, and will include a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood test and digital rectal exam.
A nurse navigator will be available to help arrange follow up care, if indicated. Spanish interpreters will also be available free of charge during the screening.
