Keith Wood Named Outstanding Probate Judge of the Year

Cherokee County's probate judge was given the honor by the Council of Probate Court Judges.

Cherokee County Probate Court Judge Keith Wood was named 2015 Outstanding Probate Judge of the Year.

Wood was awarded the distinction by the Council of Probate Court Judges during the organization’s spring seminar in Athens.

Judge Wood, who joined the Cherokee County Probate Court in 2004 as an associate judge and its chief clerk, began serving as an elected official in 2009.

His contributions to the council have included assisting in the creation of an accredited educational program for probate court judges, developing and teaching classes for both judges and clerks and, for the last two years, serving as the chair of the Training Council.
