La Rumba Cafe

Authentic Cuban food is right around the corner.

La Rumba Cafe

Overview: La Rumba Café is a well kept secret in the Woodstock area. There aren’t many Cuban restaurants around, but when you find a good one, you know it. The food is authentic and delicious. It’s a fairly new restaurant with an unassuming appeal. No fancy décor or advertising because once you try the food here, it speaks for itself.

Décor: The restaurant is located in an old strip mall close to downtown Woodstock on Main Street and Highway 92. There aren't many decorations on the walls and just a few booths and tables. There is a bar where you can sit and enjoy a beer. It’s a small but comfortable place.

Entrees: The Cuban sandwiches are one of the best around, especially the medianoche sandwich. It’s basically a Cuban sandwich on a sweeter type of bread. Dinner entrees include bistec empanizado, a breaded steak with onions, and lechon asado, a roasted pork in mojo sauce. Entrees, which range from $10 to $15, are served with rice and either black or red beans. La Rumba Café has a wonderful dessert menu which includes mango or papaya milkshakes and arroz con leche (rice pudding). Don’t forget a cup of café con leche. Lunch specials are as low as $5.99.

Service: Service is friendly and quick. The staff treats you right and your food is ready in no time at all.
