Man Found Shot To Death In Holly Springs Subdivision

HOLLY SPRINGS, GA -- Local and state law enforcement authorities are investigating the death of a man whose body was found Saturday evening in Holly Springs.

The Holly Springs Police Department said the victim, a 43-year-old male, was found on a private drive access in the Harmony on the Lakes subdivision.

Officers were dispatched around 10:40 p.m. Jan. 21 to the location where the body was discovered, said Detective Greg Bettis.

Bettis said the man was found with a fatal gunshot wound, and the death is being treated as a homicide. He also said detectives are not sure how long the man had been deceased.

Holly Springs police are investigating the incident in conjunction with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Cherokee County District Attorney's Office.
