Deputies arrived on the scene around 2 a.m. and found Derrious Scott, 24, in a bedroom with stab wounds to his arm as well as his torso, sheriff’s office spokesperson Lt. Jay Baker previously told Patch.

A be-on-the-lookout alert was given for the younger Scott brother, who allegedly stabbed his older brother at the home they shared with their mother, Baker stated.

A sheriff’s deputy located Devonte Scott’s vehicle traveling along Belletta Drive in unincorporated Canton, conducted a traffic stop and took the younger brother into custody.

Baker said at the time of his arrest, Devonte Scott had a “significant amount of blood on his clothing” and a small amount of marijuana in his possession. The brother allegedly told deputies the altercation “was over money and drugs,” Baker stated.

Derrious Scott was treated for non-life threatening injuries stemming from the alleged stabbing. Devonte Scott will be arraigned on the charges at 9 a.m. May 25, according to court documents.
