Mask-Wearing Man Tries To Rob Store in Cherokee County: Police

The man, who was wearing a white ski mask and armed with sharp edge object, escaped without obtaining any cash or property.

ACWORTH, GA -- Detectives with the Cherokee Sheriff's Office are working to identify a man who allegedly tried to rob a convenience store at knife point.

The suspect entered the Texaco station at 5634 Bells Ferry Road near Acworth around 10 p.m. Dec. 26 and attempted to rob the store clerk while "wielding a sharp edge weapon," the agency said.

Sheriff's office spokesperson Lt. Jay Baker said the man was unable to obtain any money or property during the incident.

The only physical description police were able to obtain on the man was that he was a black male wearing a black hoodie with red writing that said "Battle and Brew" as well as a white neoprene ski mask.

He was seen fleeing on foot and left the area in a dark-colored Toyota passenger vehicle.

Detectives believe the man is armed and dangerous, and anyone with information is asked to contact sheriff's office investigators at 770-928-0239 or Cherokee County dispatchers at 678-493-4080.
