In Memory: Michael Reed, 73, Co-Founder of Bethany Place

Pastor Michael Reed, 73, of Canton, passed away on Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, at Kindred Hospital in Rome.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at the Christian Praise Center with Pastor Larry Martin, Pastor Betty Holden and Pastor Larry Baker officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Sosebee Funeral Home.

Pastor Reed was the co-founder and director of Bethany Place. He loved helping people and providing a positive family environment in an attempt to nurture not only the physical needs of the women and children, but also to provide them with an opportunity to break their past and create a better future.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and May Reed; survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Sandy Reed; children, Deborah Ann Reed, Darrell Wayne Reed, David Michael Reed and Nivia Denise Reed; grandchildren, Kenny Wilkins, Chrystal Wilkins, Mysti Wilkins, Cassia Reed, Ashley Reed, Bailey Reed, Carter Reed, Shayla Reed and Emily Reed; great-grandchildren, Abigail Stewart, Amelia Williams and Ceth Zarakas; several brothers and sisters also survive.
