Motorcyclist Killed In Accident On I-575 In Canton

BREAKING: The motorcyclist hit a guardrail on the northbound exit ramp to Riverstone Parkway, the Cherokee Sheriff's Office said.

CANTON, GA — A motorcyclist died early Thursday afternoon in an accident along Interstate 575 in Cherokee County. Officers with the Canton Police Department were dispatched to the crash around 1:05 p.m. April 12 on the northbound exit ramp to Riverstone Parkway.

Canton police requested the assistance of the Cherokee Multi-Agency Crash Investigation Unit, which responded to the scene.

A preliminary investigation reveals the motorcyclist, 36-year-old Brandon Auzenne of Ball Ground, was "unable to negotiate a curve and struck the guardrail," Cherokee Sheriff's Office spokesperson Sgt. Marianne Kelley said.

Auzenne was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The Cherokee Multi-Agency Crash Investigation Unit continues to investigate the cause of the accident.
