Netflix Series To Film in Cherokee County

"Ozark" will star actor Jason Bateman, and focus on the dangerous world of drug money laundering.

CANTON, GA -- It appears the buzz surrounding Cherokee County as a popular destination for the entertainment industry to shoot movies and television series will soon grow louder.

That's because streaming giant Netflix has signed on to film its new series, "Ozark," in the county, the Cherokee Office of Economic Development confirmed to Patch.

Videssa Ormsby, project manager with the office, said the agency "has been working on various locations for the series."

One location, according to Scoop OTP, will be the former Little River Grill at Lake Allatoona. The former restaurant, located at 6986 Bells Ferry Road in unincorporated Canton, was also known as Mambo on the Lake at one point.

"Ozark" will star Jason Bateman, known for his role in "Arrested Development." The series will focus on the treacherous world of drug money laundering, according to Deadline.com.
