Old, New, Borrowed, Blue: What We Wore Walking Down the Aisle
The Cherokee County Historical Society is pleased to announce the opening of our new temporary exhibit in the Cherokee County History Museum on June 29, 2016. Old, New, Borrowed, Blue will feature wedding dresses, photographs, and accessories from women around the county. “We’re excited to display a wide range of wedding styles and dates in this exhibit,” says curator Betsy Trope. She adds that the exhibit will include dresses from the 1920s to the current day, which “gives us a great opportunity to see how our tastes have changed through the years—and also how they’ve stayed the same.”
The exhibit is located in Suite 140 of the historic marble courthouse and will be open through October 2016. The museum is located at 100 North Street, Canton, 30114, and is free and open to the public. The operating hours are Wednesday-Friday from 10 to 5pm and Saturday from 10 to 3pm.
