CANTON, GA -- Northside Hospital-Cherokee has been awarded a full two-year Advanced Certification for Primary Stroke Centers by The Joint Commission for a third consecutive survey period.

The Canton-based hospital received the recognition after undergoing an on-site evaluation and demonstrating compliance with nationally developed standards for stroke care.
Northside Hospital-Cherokee also received TJC certification for its hip and knee joint replacement and pneumonia care services. Northside Hospital-Cherokee, along with Northside Hospital in Sandy Springs and Forsyth County, remain the only Georgia hospitals to have TJC certification in pneumonia care.
