Northside Hospital Cherokee Offers Safe Sitter Classes

The classes, designed for students in grades 6-8, will give them basic safety tips to stay home alone, watch younger siblings or babysit.

CANTON, GA -- Northside Hospital Cherokee is offering safe sitter classes for youngsters who want to become experts in the area of babysitting.

These classes will equip teens and tweens with basic safety tips to stay home alone, watch younger siblings or babysit.

Designed to prepare students in grades 6-8, the instructor-led classes will utilize role-playing exercises and fun games. Students will also learn life-saving skills such as CPR and choking rescue.

Classes are scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18 or 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4. The class will be held at 2001 Professional Parkway in Woodstock. Registration is required, and the fee is $40. Students are encouraged to bring a sack lunch to the course.
