Obituary: John Harvey Pruett, 75
Pruett was the founder of Marietta-based John H. Pruett Construction Company.

John Harvey Pruett of Canton passed away on Nov. 8, 2013, at the age of 75. He was born in Atlanta on July 2, 1938.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Elizabeth Pruett, his son John H. Pruett, Jr. and daughter-in-law Brinne Pruett and two granddaughters, Delaney Elizabeth Pruett and Reece Kelley Pruett, all of Canton.
He is survived by his granddaughter Natalie Alexandra Jeffery and grandson Michael Julian Jeffery, both of Annapolis, Maryland. His daughter, Robin Pruett Jeffery, proceeded him in death in the year 2000.
He is survived by brothers Jerry Pruett of Blue Ridge and Billy Pruett of Monticello. His sister Sandra Ruff Pruett, sister Virginia Belt Callihan, and brother Butch Pruett, all proceeded him in death.
He is also survived by his brother-in-law and business partner of 40 years, David Mode (and wife Nancy Mode) of Roswell. He was the founder and owner of the John H. Pruett Construction Company, incorporated in Marietta in 1971.
He hunted around the world and liked nothing more to either be in the outdoors and/or working constantly. May God bless him and keep him.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, Nov. 10 in the chapel of Darby Funeral Home with Mr. Micah Lea officiating. Interment followed in Cherokee Memorial Park.
Visitation was held Saturday, Nov. 9 at Darby Funeral Home.
