Recycle Christmas Trees For Free In Canton (ICYMI)

Residents can drop off live, undecorated trees at the city's Collection Site through the end of January.

CANTON, GA — The city of Canton is offering a free and convenient way to recycle your live Christmas trees after the holidays. Residents can drop off their trees (without lights and decorations, of course), at the city's Collection Site at 2525 Ridge Road.

You can drop off these trees from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday through the end of January. Please note the site will be closed on Monday, Jan. 15 for city-observed holidays.

The city's Christmas tree recycling initiative goes hand-in-hand with the 27th annual Bring One for the Chipper initiative, which is a statewide effort to reuse Christmas trees. Keep Georgia Beautiful and the Georgia Department of Community Affairs have joined with corporate sponsors: The Home Depot, 11 Alive and the Davey Tree Expert Company to sponsor this recycling program.

Information for all drop-off areas is available by zip code on the initiative's website. Since 1991 Bring One for the Chipper has collected more than six million trees and provided over one million tree seedlings to participants. More than 250,000 trees were recycled last year during the program, the state says produces tangible environmental benefits.
