Staff Report
Reinhardt University, a United Methodist-affiliated institution, hosted its 21st annual United Methodist Scholarship Golf Outing on Wednesday, May 21 at Bent Tree in Jasper.
All proceeds raised from this event will support Reinhardt students who are United Methodist and those who are pursuing a full-time career in the ministry.
“One of our strongest selling points for support of the golf outing is that 100 percent of every dollar raised goes directly to student scholarships,” said the Rev. Dr. Ron Flowers, golf tournament co-chairman and retired pastor. “The success of the golf outing is certainly due to the hard work of the University staff and the support of the local churches and ministers. People know a good cause when they
see it, and they want to support it and make a difference in the lives of these outstanding students.”
The tournament welcomed 84 players.
“Players participate, year after year, partly because we provide a fun and competitive tournament but more importantly because they want to support the students and the University in some meaningful way," Flowers added.
