- Sometimes, parents need a night to themselves – especially with the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. That's why CantonCKD Martial Arts is hosting a holiday fun night! Kids can have fun and unwind in a safe environment while parents and caregivers can take some much-needed time off. The event will be held Dec. 10 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. Children can enjoy pizza, gingerbread cookies, and other treats. Children ages four to 14 are welcome. (AllEvents)
- The ART BARN will be hosting a special event where attendees can meet unicorns! The Unicorn Morning event takes place on Dec. 8 from 10:00 a.m. until noon where there will be a chance to ride one of these magical creatures. Visitors are encouraged to dress up in their most glamorous princess gear or your coolest farmer outfit. The rest of the petting zoo will open during the event. The event is registration only. - Christmas in Canton arrives this week! The holiday event will be held on Dec. 9 in Downtown Canton. There will be holiday fun galore, including Santa Claus himself, live reindeer, and a decorated cookie station. In addition, activities like the petting zoo, face painting, make your own s'mores, and much more will be available. There will also be vendors for shopping purposes and plenty of nearby restaurants when you need a food break. (Canton GA)
- Calling all prospective pet parents: The Cherokee Humane Society has plenty of adoptable cats and dogs awaiting their forever homes. You can browse the shelter's residents and filter by breed, age, gender, and size. - Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services held the groundbreaking ceremony for their new fire station. The station will be located in western Cherokee County in the Sutallee community. Fire Station 13 will reside at the intersection of Ficklen Church Way and Knox Bridge Highway. The groundbreaking ceremony was held on Dec. 5.
