Residents, 2 Pets Safe After Massive Blaze In Canton
A pet cat remains unaccounted for after a fire Wednesday at Glen Echo Drive.

CANTON, GA — All residents and two pets are safe while a third pet remains unaccounted for after a two-story house in Canton burned Wednesday night.
Five residents of a house at Glen Echo Drive were able to escape the heavy fire around 9:30 p.m. but the whereabouts of a family cat are unknown, according to the Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services.
There were no reported injuries, according to the fire department.

Firefighters were notified after a resident who was asleep heard a downstairs window break and saw fire outside of their window, fire officials said. The resident alerted the rest of the household.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
