School Choice, New Enrollment Open For Cherokee Schools
February is Cherokee County's school choice month, which includes both the opportunity to request a reassignment and enrollment.
CANTON, GA — February is Cherokee Schools' school choice month, which includes both the opportunity to request a reassignment and the kickoff for pre-k, kindergarten and grades 1-12 new student enrollment for the 2022-23 school year.
Information is on the district's website explaining how to:
- Apply through March 1 for school choice reassignment for any of the 18 schools (13 elementary schools, including five Cherokee academies – STEM, fine arts and STEAM; three middle schools; two high schools) with capacity for next school year
- Apply through March 1 for i-Grad Virtual Academy for grades 4-12, which replaces the district's digital learning, for next school year
- Register online to enroll a new kindergartener or any student grades 1-12 who will be new to Cherokee Schools for next school year
- Apply Feb. 11-March 11 for the Georgia pre-k lottery drawing for a spot in the district's pre-k program for next school year
- Learn more about other district school choice programs, including Cherokee College & Career Academy, ACE Academy, Mountain Education Charter High School and other pre-k and preschool programs, including Head Start and Special Education
