Sequoyah Students Make International Career Development Contest
Doing well at a state competition earlier in February, the students are shining.

From Cherokee Schools: Sequoyah High School DECA members placed at State competition and now are headed to Internationals!
The students joined more than 2,200 other Georgia members of the student marketing association to compete earlier this month at the State Career Development Conference in Atlanta.
Victoria Ergle earned first place in Principles of Finance; Hanna Palmer earned second place in Apparel & Accessories Marketing; and Elaine Ware earned fifth place in Business Growth Plan… qualifying them for DECA’s international competition in Atlanta this April.

Also at the State competition, Kaleigh Miller earned eighth place in Principles of Hospitality, and Katie Kirkland earned ninth place in Business Speech. Teacher Kari Palmer serves as advisor for Sequoyah’s Chapter, which is the 17th largest in Georgia.
DECA’s industry validated competitive events are aligned with national career education standards for marketing, business management and administration, finance, and hospitality and tourism.
